What Equine Massage Does for Your Horse

Equine massage is a gentle, hands‑on way to help your horse feel better in their body. It supports comfort, mobility, and overall, well‑being by easing tension in the muscles and fascia. Horses can develop tight or restricted areas from everyday things—saddle fit issues, repetitive movement, hard work, aging, or even emotional stress. When that happens, you might notice changes like stiffness, reluctance to move forward, resistance, irritability, or a sense that your horse is just “off.”

During each session, areas of tightness, soreness, atrophy, or knots are identified and addressed with focused techniques. This helps improve circulation, release tight muscles, increase range of motion, and restore natural, comfortable movement. It’s a supportive therapy for horses of all ages and lifestyles—from competitive athletes to trail partners to the older horses who simply deserve extra care.

My Story

Hello! My name is Lori Gianforte, and my journey with horses began over a decade ago. These incredible animals have always amazed me—their beauty, strength, athleticism, and willingness to connect with humans is truly inspiring. The impact horses have had on humanity throughout history is immeasurable, and being part of their world is something I cherish.

As a horse owner, I often wondered whether anyone offered massage therapy for horses. At the time, it wasn’t a widely available service, so I decided to pursue certification myself. The intricacies of equine muscles and biomechanics quickly captured my interest, and that fascination continues to grow every day.

As a Certified Equine Massage Therapist, I’m a strong advocate for the many benefits equine massage provides. My passion comes from seeing how effective this therapy is—not only for the horses I work with, but for my own as well. This isn’t about pampering — it’s about genuinely helping these magnificent animals move comfortably, feel better, and thrive.
