What is Lori's Equine Massage About?
Lori's Equine Massage uses a gentle, hands-on approach that addresses muscle tension, improves circulation, and restores flexibility and movement. Gentle stretching is woven into each session to further release tight muscles and encourage a fuller, more comfortable range of motion.
Why Massage Matters
Horses carry tension in their muscles, in their posture, in the way they move. They can develop tight or restricted areas from any number of everyday factors — poor saddle fit, repetitive movement, hard workouts, aging, or even emotional stress. When those areas go unaddressed, the effects are subtle at first, then harder to ignore: strides shorten, movement stiffens, and the horse's whole way of going loses its ease and freedom.

Massage Services
Massage & Stretching Session - $85
A full-body massage and gentle stretching tailored to your horse's ability. The focus is on releasing muscle tension, improving circulation, and restoring ease of movement.
Massage Only Session - $75
A focused, full‑body massage tailored to your horse’s individual needs (does not include stretching). This session supports healthy muscle function, improves circulation, and helps ease everyday tension.
Add-On Therapy Modalities
Equine Taping - Starts at $25 (Price varies per taping function.)
Equine taping can be incorporated into a session to support muscle recovery, circulation, reduce inflammation, or encourage proper movement patterns between visits. Lori will discuss whether taping is appropriate for your horse and explain its benefits during your appointment.
Laser |Tens Therapy | EquiSculpt NEO - Starts at $25
(Price varies based on treatment time and areas addressed.)
Non‑invasive, drug‑free modalities used to ease soreness, reduce inflammation, and support healing. Laser therapy boosts circulation and cellular repair, while TENS uses gentle electrical impulses to relax tense muscles. EquiSculpt Neo applies gentle pulsed electromagnetic fields to enhance circulation, ease tightness, and support comfortable, balanced movement. All modalities integrate beautifully with massage to enhance your horse’s comfort and recovery.
Additional modalities may be incorporated as needed, including a massage gun, gua sha tools, or other precision hand tools to target specific areas of tension, along with medical‑grade fractionated coconut oil and/or peppermint oil when appropriate.
Spa Day Services
Barn Spa Day - $70 per horse
A minimum of 4 horses scheduled for a full body massage + stretching session. This special service is designed to bring owners together for a fun, relaxing experience at the barn. Bring a chair, your favorite legal beverage or snack, and all your conversations to catch up with your barn friends while enjoying watching your horse melt into a full, individualized bodywork session. Estimated session time per horse: 60 minutes.

Performance Barn Packages
A tiered package designed for training barns, lesson programs, and therapeutic riding centers to support the horses in your care. (Availability depends on other Performance Barn Packages scheduled.)

Consultation with Owner/Trainer - $25 onsite/phone no charge
A personalized assessment including observing how they stand and move, muscle palpation, and tension review. We will discuss the findings from a massage therapist perspective and create a tailored plan to support your horse’s comfort and performance. Please note: some horses may require a veterinarian lameness exam prior to massage therapy.

What to Expect with my Work
I arrive prepared.
Before I begin my work, I introduce myself to your horse. I observe their temperament, posture, howe they stand or how they move, and demeanor at that time. Every session begins with listening.
Your horse sets the pace.
Throughout the session, I will follow your horse’s cues and adjust my pressure, technique as needed. I am always reading them on how they respond. There is no rushing and no forcing. If your horse becomes agitated or shows signs of discomfort that do not get resolved with gentle adjustments, I will stop the session and recommend contacting your veterinarian, as there may be something else going on.
Informed, responsive touch.
Every technique I use has a purpose. Whether I’m addressing a specific concern or working through the full body, my approach is grounded in anatomy, feel, and experience.
You leave with clarity.
At the end of each session, I share my observations verbally and at the end of each session, I will give you a written report that includes where I found tension, trigger points, and any other notable findings. I may also share some easy massage strokes and stretching techniques, and simple ground exercises, so you will know how to support your horse between my visits.

Payment is due after each appointment. Invoicing may apply to Performance Barn Packages and terms must be agreed upon.

Checks: If payment is utilized by check and it is returned for insufficient funds, there will be a $50 extra fee on top of payment due.

Hello! My name is Lori Gianforte. My journey with horses began over a decade ago, and these incredible animals continue to amaze me. Their beauty, strength, athleticism, and willingness to connect with humans is truly inspiring. Horses have shaped human history in countless ways, and being part of their world is something I deeply cherish.
As a horse owner, I often wondered whether massage therapy existed for horses. At the time, it wasn’t a widely available service — so I decided to pursue certification myself. Once I began studying, the intricacies of equine muscles and biomechanics captured my interest immediately, and that fascination has only grown stronger over the years.
As a Certified Equine Massage Therapist, I’m a passionate advocate for the many benefits this work provides. I’ve seen firsthand how effective massage can be — not only for the horses I work with, but for my own as well. This isn’t about pampering. It’s about helping these magnificent animals move comfortably, release tension, feel better in their bodies, and truly thrive.
