...Because it's About the Muscles!
Equine Massage
Equine Massage is a non-invasive therapy practice used on horses that use the hands to influence muscles. A horse’s optimal movement can be compromised due to injury, incorrect saddle fit, pain and inflammation, repetitive movements, strenuous exercise, arthritis, or emotional stress, and all this will affect the soft tissue. As this occurs, the horse may exert behaviors such as aggression, dominance, unwilling to move, refusal, or simply just feeling off. The muscles and the fascia are restricted. Without outside manipulation, this restriction will not go away on its own.
During a massage, the hands can feel the tension, tightness, restriction, atrophy, trigger points (knots), and spasms; however, this work can greatly improve the soft tissue condition. Massage will help get those muscles released, eliminate trigger points, get circulation flowing again so the horse can move more freely with better range of motion, and feel better! Massage is good for any horse, at any level, at any age.

Services & Pricing

Get ready for an amazing experience with Lori's Equine Massage! Please note that my services and pricing can change, so be sure to confirm at the time of your session. Payment is due after the session, and I happily accept cash or Zelle—no checks, please! If you're located outside Tucson, we'll chat about a mileage fee during scheduling. Remember to cancel or reschedule at least 3 days in advance for a smooth process and others may need a spot too.

At Lori's Equine Massage, I prioritize a positive environment for everyone. I may need to dismiss a client if there are excessive cancellations or non-payment. In some cases, a veterinarian's approval for massage therapy is necessary, so honesty about your horse's condition is key!

To ensure a fantastic session, please have your horse ready by brushing them off, remove any poultice from their legs, or maybe give them a little snack. It's important that your horse is calm and ready to enjoy this special treatment! I will ask you to either hold your horse, cross tie, or tie at hitching post for the session. If your horse isn't comfortable with the massage, I will do my best to accommodate your horse, especially if it’s their first massage. If your horse displays any aggressive behavior, I may need to stop the session, and pricing may still apply or may be adjusted. Let's work together for a wonderful experience!

My Story
Hello! My name is Lori Gianforte. My journey with horses began over a decade ago, and I find these incredible animals to be truly remarkable. Their beauty, strength, athleticism, and willingness to connect with humans are truly inspiring. The contributions of horses to humanity throughout history is immeasurable.
As a horse owner, I often wondered if anyone provided massage for them. At that time, the practice seemed limited, so I decided to get certified! The intricacies of equine muscles and the horse biomechanics continue to captivate my interest.
As a Certified Equine Massage Therapist, I am a strong advocate for equine massage and its numerous benefits for horses. My passion stems from knowing how effective this therapy is for them, including my own horses. This isn’t about pampering; it’s about genuinely helping these magnificent creatures move and feel their best!
